The TP&W RR Command Console

The TP&W Command console features a 6.4 inch flat screen television monitor with a 2-channel video switch along with high quality audio. It monitors trains in the parking garage as well as video from other sources. There are 24 track status LEDs embedded in the panel as well as 10 current indicators. It has the capability to control 16 track switches (turnouts) and can automatically precisely adjust the track voltage and polarity on any of the eight track outputs.

The console is in constant communication with 7 Whistlestop II decelerators and the Power Wizard Power supply. The Whistlestops keep it informed of the arrival of each train and then receive instructions from the console as to what to do with that particular train. They can let the train stop and restart normally, stop the train and hold it until notified to release it, or highball through without even slowing down. The Power Wizard can instantly alter or reverse the power on any of the 8 tracks as required. It also constantly monitors track current. There is a conventional RS-232 input for computer operation.

It has the capability of running up to eight different automated multi-train programs involving complex switching and control applications including bidirectional movement on designated tracks, and reversing loops.
